North Carolina Railroad Company
Variant namesIncorporated in North Carolina in 1849 to construct a railroad from Charlotte, N.C., to connect with the line of Wilmington and Raleigh Railroad; line opened from Goldsboro to Charlotte, N.C. (223 miles), in 1856; leased to Richmond and Danville Railroad Company (1871-1894); operated by Southern Railway Company after 1894.
