Stanley, James H., fl. 1860-1862.
James H. Stanley, son of James Rowell Stanley (1807-1858) and Mahala Coney Stanley (1814-1858), attended the Collinsworth Institute in Talbotton, Ga., and then served in the 8th Georgia Regiment, C.S.A. His brother, Joel Coney Stanley (1844-1899), also served in the Confederate Army. Two of Stanley's sisters married brothers: Leah Nora Stanley (1834-1909) married Robert LaFayette Cumming (1831-1862) and Mary Ann Stanley (b. 1838) married Alexander Hamilton Cumming. Stanley's other siblings were Jane, Eugenia Florence, Augusta, Edward Marshall and Ira B. Stanley.
