Elwell, John C.
John C. Elwell was a United States (U.S.) Army soldier during WWII. Private Elwell was drafted from Athol, New York. He did basic training at Fort McClellan, Alabama, and Camp Reynolds, Greenville, Pennsylvania, before joining the 34th Infantry Division in Africa and Italy. Wounded in Italy, he was hospitalized in North Africa at the 37th General Hospital in December 1943.
