Henry Graybill Lamar (1798-1861) was born in Clinton, Jones County, Ga. He studied law, was admitted to the bar, and practiced in Macon, Ga. He was a Judge of the Superior Court, member of the Georgia House of Representatives, Representative from Georgia in Congress, 1829-1833, an unsuccessful candidate for Governor of Georgia, and an Associate Justice of the Georgia Supreme Court.
