Wakefield family.
Joel Wakefield (1765- ), Tubal Wakefield (1770-1794), and Solomon Wakefield (1754-1821) were the grandsons of Joseph Wakefield (ca. 1702-1746) and the sons of William (1726-1790) and Abia Trumbull Wakefield ( -1795). In 1726, Joseph "...bought 128 acres of land, on the road to Woodstock, from William Dudley, Esq., of Roxbury" (this land was between Oxford, Mass., and Woodstock, Conn., in Dudley, Mass.) where he established his home and family. Upon Joseph's death, William received twenty acres of that land where he established his estate and where all his children were born.
