Buchanan, J. C. (John C.)
Variant namesJohn C. Buchanan emigrated to California from Kentucky in 1846, joining Edwin Bryant's party. In 1847 he was municipal clerk in San Francisco and in 1848 was engaged in auctioneering. He became owner of many lots in San Francisco.
