Richard I. Garton was assistant curator in the American Museum of Natural History's Dept. of Education from 1950 to 1953.
Garton was born in Puerto Rico in 1919 and received his B.A. from the College of Wooster (Ohio) in 1942. He worked as an editor of nature publications. At the AMNH Garton was a member of the Motion Picture Production Committee; editor of Man and nature publications (issued as part of the museum's Science guide series); and supervisor of visual aids.
