George Webster Binkley, dermatologist, was born in Canton, Ohio, on 24 Jan. 1904. In 1930, he married Kathryn Sensenig. Binkley died in Hendersonville, N.C., 2 Apr. 1974.

Binkley graduated from the Western Reserve University School of Medicine in 1930. In 1933, he began a residency in dermatology at University Hospitals in Cleveland and at Cleveland City Hospital. In 1937, Binkley opened a private practice and became an instructor in Dermatology at Western Reserve University School of Medicine. Eventually, Binkley became Professor of Dermatology and Syphilology and in 1970 became Professor Emeritus of Dermatology. He also served as consultant to several hospitals in Cleveland. Binkley specialized in skin diseases associated with diabetes.
