Reece, Thomas Madison, 1836-1894.
Abingdon, Ill. physician who acted as the medical director of Camp Butler, Ill., 1861-1862, then as surgeon with the 118th Illinois Infantry, and surgeon in chief, Cavalry Division, Department of the Gulf, 1863-1865. Very interested in preventive medicine and hygiene. After the war continued to practice medicine in Abingdon until his death.
