John Augustus Moore, Gillisonville, South Carolina postmaster, was born on May 16, 1831 and died on December 31, 1920. He served in South Carolina's Beaufort District Troop (2nd Cavalry, Company B) during the Civil War and was a postmaster most of his adult life.
