Carlisle Cobb (1886-1970), lawyer and judge, son of Howell Cobb (1842-1909) and Mary McKinley Cobb (1844-1927), married Kate McKinley Treanor in 1913. Children include Carlisle Cobb, Jr. (1916) married Juliette Dale, Howell Edward (1918), and Mary McKinley (1923) married Lee Trimble. Other family members include Carlisle's brothers Zachariah Lamar Cobb (b. 1880) and Thomas Reade Roots (1868-1898) married Maud Barker (d. 1891), sisters Sara Spalding (b. 1882) married Richard Baxter (d. 1906) and Caroline Elizabeth (b. 1884), and his nephew Thomas Reade Rootes Cobb (b. 1896).

Carlisle Cobb was the son of Judge Howell Cobb and Mary McKinley Cobb. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia, a collegiate baseball star, and a prominent Georgia attorney, serving as Judge of the Western Judicial Circuit. He was also a member of the Georgia State Legislature. In addition, Carlisle Cobb was a writer of various types of material, from legal explications to poetry.
