Steven Woodrich was born in Minn. on December 28, 1925, and enlisted in the Army on February 24, 1944 at Fort Snelling. At the time of his enlistment he was unmarried, had completed four years of high school. Woodrich joined the 10th Mountain Division at Camp Swift, Tex. where he was assigned to Company F of the 86th Infantry Regiment. He received a Bronze Star medal for his actions during the Apennines and Po River Campaigns during Spring 1945.
