Perry, Nathaniel Patrick, 1912-2002

Nathaniel Patrick Perry was born March 17, 1912, in New Orleans, La., and grew up in Baton Rouge. He attended Baton Rouge Colored High School and graduated from McKinley High School in 1930. He received a B.A. degree in mathematics from New Orleans University (now Dillard University) in 1935. Perry received degrees in divinity and social work from Howard University and spent most of his career as a minister. He was also an accomplished singer, performing with the Louisiana Bards Male Chorus of New Orleans University at the 1933 World's Fair in Chicago. He married Clytie Fears of Alexandria, La., and died June 15, 2002.
