Stan Wigley graduated MB BS, University of Melbourne. In 1956 Dr Wigley spent three months in New Guinea where he carried out a tuberculosis survey along the Sepik River. In 1959 he was appointed Specialist Medical Officer in the TPNG Department of Public Health with responsibility for the tuberculosis program. His publications include papers on tuberculosis, leprosy, lung cancer and pneumonia.
