Eddington, E. Keith (Elmo Keith), 1923-2007
Variant namesE. Keith Eddington (1923-2007) was a noted Utah portraitist and graphic designer.
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Elmo Keith Eddington was raised in Lehi, Utah, and served in both the European and Pacific theaters of operation during World War II. After the war he pursued professional training in art at the University of Utah and the Chicago Academy of Fine Art, where he studied under Avard Fairbanks and Arnold Friberg, among others.
From 1952 through 1969 he taught illustration, graphic design, figure drawing, and painting at the University of Utah. In the 1980s he was a professor of design at Brigham Young University. Eddington was also co-owner and art director of the public relations firm of Circuit and Eddington and later ran his own design office, Keith Eddington & Associates.
