Roy Drachman was born in Tucson, Arizona in 1906. His grandfather, Phillip Drachman, had settled in Tucson shortly after the Gadsden Purchase. Roy was involved in his father's entertainment enterprise, assisting with managing various theatres in Tucson. He has also been involved in real estate ad the development of Tucson as a convalescent center.
