Philadelphia Yearly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends. Friends Bicentennial Committee.
The Bicentennial Committee was convened in 1974 at the suggestion of Schuylkill Monthly Meeting to coordinate hospitality for Quakers visiting Philadelphia during the Bicentennial. In 1975, Representative Meeting approved the Committee to have oversight of all Bicenntennial activity including the functions of two pre-existing committees, the former Bicenntennial Committee and the group that was coordinating activity of the Arch Street visitation in 1976.
