Brown, George Hay, 1910-1999
Variant namesBrown earned a Ph. D. in economics from the University of Chicago in 1945. He was a sales manager for Mallinckrodt Chemical Works from 1931-1938, taught at the University of Chicago from 1939-1954, and worked in marketing research at Ford Motor Company from 1954-1969. Brown was director of the U.S. Bureau of the Census from 1969-1973 and secretary of the Conference Board from 1973-1981.
