Environmental and social activist, Seattle, Wash.

Hazel Anna Wolf (1898-2000) fought for feminism, human rights, organized labor, and environmental protection throughout her 101 years. She was a prominent member of the Seattle Audubon Society and served as its secretary for 37 years. In the late 1970s Wolf revitalized the Federation of Western Outdoor Clubs, serving as its president from 1976-1977. She also edited the organization's newsletter, Outdoors West, from 1981-1999. Wolf's activism extended to international issues; for environmental and political reasons she visited Nicaragua five times between 1983 and 1994.
