Hester, John K. (John Kenton), 1916-1965
John Kenton Hester (1916-1965) was born in Plains, Montana. He received his commission as 2nd lieutenant in the Air Corps of the U.S. Army in 1939, and advanced to the rank of major general in 1960. Among his various commands were Chief of Staff of the 2nd Air Force at Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana from 1957 to 1959 and Deputy Director at Operations Headquarters of the Air Force in Washington from 1959 to 1962.
