Frank F. Lamons, dentist and educator, was born September 25, 1900, in Greenville, Tennessee, and died December 23, 1966, in Atlanta, Georgia. He graduated from the Atlanta-Southern Dental College (1924; subsequently Emory University School of Dentistry, 1944), studied orthodontics at the University of Pennsylvania (1925-1926), and was then associated with Dr. Thomas P. Hinman in Atlanta until 1931. He was a professor of orthodontics (1929-1949) and department chairman at the Emory University School of Dentistry (1949-1965). Lamons wrote articles related to his work, was president of the American Society of Dentistry for Children (1940-1941), the United States section of the International College of Dentists, the Northern District Dental Association (1957), and the Georgia Dental Association (1966).
