South Dakota State Grange.
Agricultural society.
First organized near Vermillion in 1872. In 1873 a territorial organization was formed with 25 additional granges. By 1874 the Grange had reached its fullest growth in Dakota Territory with 56 lodges and a probable membership of 2000.
