Kundig, Martin, 1805-1879

A native of Switzerland, who came to America in 1828, and finished his studies for the priesthood in Bardstown, Ky. After a few years in Cincinnati, in 1833 he came to Detroit where he remained 9 years. During the cholera epidemic of 1834 he established a hospital, and later did much for poor relief. In 1842 he was transferred to Milwaukee where he died in 1879, aged 74. MMQ (blue index cards)
