Joshua Logan (1908-1988) was a director and producer of works for stage, screen, and television, as well as a playwright and screenwriter.

Born Joshua Lockwood Logan III in Texarkana, Texas, in 1908, he graduated from Princeton and studied in Moscow with Constantin Stanislavsky. Briefly an actor, Logan turned instead to directing and producing, and was best known for I MARRIED AN ANGEL, KNICKERBOCKER HOLIDAY, CHARLEY'S AUNT, THIS IS THE ARMY, ANNIE GET YOUR GUN, MISTER ROBERTS, and SOUTH PACIFIC, among others. Joshua Logan received the Pulitzer Prize with Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II for SOUTH PACIFIC. His film credits include PICNIC, BUS STOP, SAYONARA, SOUTH PACIFIC, CAMELOT, and PAINT YOUR WAGON. Joshua Logan died in 1988 at the age of 80.
