Wayne Fulton Gibbs was born 23 April 1899 in Winchester, Ill. He held the B. S. and M. S. degrees from the University of Illinois and was a certified public accountant. He first taught at Nebraska Wesleyan University, then at the College of William and Mary from 1926-1960. At the time of his retirement, he was chair of the Department of Business Administration as well as Professor of Accountancy.
