Chandler, Ralph, 1829-1889.
Chandler was commanding officer of the receiving ship USS Wabash at the Boston Navy Yard in 1877. He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1851, served in the Mexican and Civil Wars, was commandant of the Brooklyn Navy Yard in 1884 and was promoted to rear admiral in 1886.
