Bowen, Robert Adger.
Bowen was the son of O. A. and Clarissa Adger Bowen. Born in Charleston, his youth was spent at Rivoli and Ashtabula near Pendleton. He was an editor in New York City and served as a special agent for the FBI. After retirement, he lived in Greenville for 43 years, where he was a regular contributor to the editorial pages of the Greenville News. During this period he also produced hundreds of poems.
