Radio UNTAC (Phnom Penh, Cambodia)
Variant namesUNTAC was established in February, 1992, to supervise the ceasefire in Cambodia, oversee the withdrawal of foreign forces, disarm the armed forces of the Cambodian parties, supervise the activities of the government, and conduct free elections. Deployment began in March, 1992. UNTAC lasted until September, 1992. Radio UNTAC began broadcasting on November 9, 1992, and by April, 1993 all parts of Cambodia were reached by radio. All political parties had access to Radio UNTAC.
