Andrew Taylor was born in 1940 in Warrambool, Victoria and educated at Scotch College and the University of Melbourne where he later lectured in the Department of English. In 1970 he was appointed a lecturer at the University of Adelaide. Collections of his poetry have been published: Cool change (1971). Ice Fishing (1973), The invention of fire (1976) Parabolas (1976) and a long poem The crystal absences, the trout (1978).
