The Florida State University School is a project school created by Florida State University, serving grades K-12. In 1857, it was founded as the Primary Department of The Florida Institute. In 1919, it was dubbed "The Model School." In 1922, High School grades were added. In 1924 it became "The Demonstration School." In 1927, it was accredited by the State Department of Education, and christened "Florida High."
