Henry Keppler Mooney (b. 1910, New Orleans, La.-d. May 29, 1976), U.S. Air Force officer, graduated from West Point in 1931 and earned his pilot wings the following year. In 1941 he assumed command of the 6th Bomb Group in the Panama Canal Zone, and in 1943 he was commander of all Army, Navy, and Army Air Force troops in the Galapagos Islands, Ecuador. He assumed command of the 15th Air Force's 459th Bomb Group in Italy in 1944, flying 23 combat missions in B-24s. After the War, he served as deputy director of military personnel at Air Force HQ; assumed command of the Strategic Air Command (SAC) 91st Strategic Reconnaissance Wing; commanded the 4th Air Division, SAC's 6th Air Division, and the 806th Air Division. In the late 1950s, General Mooney was deputy commander, 15th Air Force, and commander, 16th Air Force in Spain. He retired in 1966.
