Elmer Chester Huntley was born in 1915 and died in 1994. Mr. Huntley served as Washington State Representative from the 9th District for five terms from 1956 to 1966. He served as Chairman of the State Highway Commission. He was elected to the State Senate in 1966 and served there until 1972. He was a member of the committees of Agriculture and Horticulture, Highways, Ways and Means (Appropriations), Higher Education and Libraries, and Commerce and Regulatory Agencies. He was appointed to the National Highway Safety Advisory Committee in 1970 by President Nixon. He was actively involved in local affairs. He was the Grand master of Masons in Washington and Alaska.
