New York (Colony)
The "Oblong tract", also known as the "Equivalent lands," is a tract of land located in present day Dutchess County, New York. The tract was officially ceded to New York by Connecticut in 1731 in exchange for a comparable tract of New York property located along the Long Island Sound.
