The Faculty Development Committee of Michigan Technological University in Houghton, Michigan was charged to maintain, implement and update departmental promotion and tenure procedures in accordance with current University Promotion and Tenure Procedures; coordinate and collect all pertinent information necessary for promotion, tenure, reappointment and faculty development processes; make independent recommendations for inclusion in the Faculty dossier on promotion, tenure and reappointment, in accordance with guidelines distributed by the Chair to the Faculty; and review Faculty progress and make recommendations to the Department Chair on professional development including travel and seminars.
