Lester L. Wheeler (b. Nov. 26, 1910, Baltimore, Md.-d. May 5, 1999, Washington, D.C.), U.S. Army officer, graduated from West Point in 1935. He was an officer with the 24th Infantry Division in Pearl Harbor when it was attacked in 1941. He later commanded the 34th Infantry Regiment in combat in the Philippines, and during the Korean War commanded the 5th Regimental Combat Team. He also served as commanding general, Yukon Command in Alaska, and as chief of staff with the 3rd U.S. Army. He retired from Army service in 1965.
