Allen, Bertram S., 1946-
Served with the 25th Infantry Division, U.S. Army, in Vietnam from 1968 to 1970. Initially assigned to an artillery unit, later wrote for the division newspaper and public information office. After discharge from military service, earned M. Ed. and Ed. D. degrees and went on to become a professor and director of counseling at Milligan College near Johnson City, Tenn.
