George V. Holloman Squadron. Silver Wings (Angel Flight)

Hide Profile

Interest in forming a chapter of Angel Flight at NC State began in 1961, but it was not until 1964 that enough women pledged for an official chapter to be granted. NC State's chapter of Angel Flight remains active as of 2008, though a reworking of the national organization in the 1980s led to a name change; some chapters around the country have retained the name Angel Flight, but most, including State's, now go by the name Silver Wings.
