Franciscan National Marian Commission

The Franciscan National Marian Commission was established in 1947 in the United States and it constitutes an organized movement within the Order of Friars Minor. It is a branch of the Franciscan Marian Commissions which include the Central Franciscan Marian Commission based in Rome, National Commissions, and Provincial Commissions. The objectives of the Franciscan National Marian Commission were to promote Marian congresses, institutes, studies, and centers, and to sponsor the publication of The Marian Era from 1960-1976. Members were urged to promote activities on a national level and in their own provinces including, programs of scholarly papers, Marian Days, forums, study groups, and publication of articles.
