Lynden E. Behymer, California impresario, was a leader in the musical development of the Southwest. He came to Los Angeles in 1886 and soon became active as a publisher of theatrical programs and other ancillary activities in the local theatres. Between 1899 and 1904 he established himself as the city's leading impresario for musical events, continuing in that role until his death in December 1947.
