In the letter of recommendation letter, Julia was described as having just completed the rural school course at CSNS on June 16, 1902. She had an excellent academic record and was ranked among the best teachers at the Training School. Julia was enthusiastic, studious, thoughtful, and conscientious, with an attractive personality. By 1918 Julia married John M. Burns and they lived in Hubbardston, Mich., at least through 1928, as noted in the CMU Alumni Directory for those years. The full identities of Rose, Agnes, and Margaret are unknown.
