Lewis, Walter J. (Walter Joseph), 1854-1924
Walter Lewis (1854-1924), son of William Lewis and Ann Evans, was born in Salt Lake City June 25, 1854. In his early twenties, Lewis embarked on a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in Wales, where Latter-day Saint missionaries had been preaching since the 1840s. Following his mission, Lewis remained in the Salt Lake City, Utah region until his death on May 13, 1924.
