Hide Profile

The Equal Opportunity Committee, also known as the Equal Opportunity Board, was the 1975 merger of the Human Relations Commission, the Commission on the Status of Women, and the Affirmative Action Compliance Committee. The committee's assignment was to study and propose policies to ensure equitable treatment of all members of the University of Nevada community, and to consult with the affirmative action officer and president of the University concerning these policies. The records cover primarily the chairmanship of John P. Marschall, who served as chair after the resignation of Mary Ellen Glass in March, 1976. The affirmative action officer during this period was Harry Wolf, and university president was Max Milam.
