Dole Corp.
James Drummond Dole established Hawaiian Pineapple Co. in 1901 in Wahiawa, Oahu. In 1911 Henry Ginaca, an employee of HPC, invented a processing machine which tripled cannery output. In 1961 HPC became Dole Corp. and in 1970 merged with Castle & Cooke. The firm is now known as Dole Foods Corp.
