Varnell, Larry Lee.
Born May 8, 1918 in Tennessee. Played basketball for Milligan College (Tennessee) and U.S. Navy. Coached Regis College (Denver, Colorado) basketball team, the Regis Rangers, from 1946 to 1951. Worked for Central Bank and Trust Company (Denver, Colo.) from 1951 to 1979. Awarded Distinguished Service Award from the Denver (Colo.) Rotary Club Foundation. Served as Colorado Sports Hall of Fame president and president of Metro Stadium, Inc.
