Florida State Improvement Commission

The Florida State Improvement Commission was created in 1941 (Ch. 20509, Laws). Its duties were to facilitate the acquisition, construction, maintenance, and operation of public facilities and roads; to relieve unemployment; to aid counties and municipalities in securing federal and private monies; and to regulate and license airports. The Commission was abolished in 1955 and its duties were transferred to the Florida Development Commission (Ch. 29788, Laws).
