Dewey, William S., b. 1841.
William Dewey of Quechee, VT, graduated from Norwich University in 1863. Following his graduation he pursued a career in the manufacture of woolen goods. In 1862, during the Civil War, he took part in enrolling the "College Cavaliers," which became Company B, 7th Squadron, Rhode Island Volunteer Cavalry. Dewey was presented an honorary A. M. degree by Norwich University in 1909.
