Roy Hartford Parker (b. May 15, 1890, Hickory, Mo.), U.S. Army general and chaplain, was ordained to the Baptist ministry in 1912 and joined the Army in 1918. During World War II, he served as chaplain, 5th Army Corps in North Ireland and England, and as chaplain in the North Africa Theater of Operations. Following the War, he was assigned to the office of the Chief of Chaplains in Washington, D.C.; as theater chaplain in general HQ, Far East Command; and as Chief of Chaplains, Department of the Army beginning in 1949.
