Received B.A. and M.A. in Anthropology at Texas Tech University. Specialized in Urban Anthropology and folklore. Had been an activist in the late 1960's and early 1970's. Carried on family tradition of playing traditional folk music on fiddle and folk harp. Served as officer in the South Plains Folk Music Society.
