Allen, Alfred, 1839-1926.
Alfred Allen enlisted in the Civil War just prior to his twenty-second birthday. He fought as a Union soldier in the Ninth Regiment Indiana Infantry, Company D. After the war, Allen married Mary Alice Hand. She died at age twenty-four after bearing two children. Alfred Allen then married Melinda Baldwin in 1874 and moved to California. Allen died in California in 1926.
