Ida Y. Thorne (1882-1969) was a librarian in Brigham City, Utah.

Ida Vilate Young Thorne was born on October 24, 1882 in Perry, Utah, to Harriet Campkin and Thomas Young. She was able to attend the Salt Lake Temple dedication on April 12, 1893. She served a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to the Midwest, particularly in St. Louis and Independence, Missouri, from 1909 to 1911. In 1912 she was called to be the librarian of the Box Elder Stakes M. I. A. Library in Brigham City. She attended the first library training course in Utah during the summer of 1912. She became librarian of Box Elder High School in 1913, while working at the city library in the afternoons. She married Milton Jeferson Thorne on April 8,1914. He had three children from a previous marriage, and together Ida and Milton had four children. All seven children were raised as her own. During her life she was an avid journal writer. Thorne died on December 16, 1969 at age 87.
